About Us James and Kathleen -" You are in
good hands!" James and Kathleen have been local residents of Birr for the last 20 years.
Happily married with two children, Johnathan and Rebecca, they juggle family
life, running a business and full time work (James is the Head Chef at the local
restaurant - the Racket Hall). A part of the business is outside catering - from
weddings to communions, birthdays to company events, James offers a highly
professional and cost effective service catering for these types of events.
Kathleen has many years' experience in the bed and breakfast industry and
hospitality trade. Every bed is made to perfection and the pride she takes into
her house is faultless. Her high standards would be hard to be beaten and every
guest that stays leaves knowing that they have been well looked after!
Our House. Lavender House was built as an extension of our own house and was completed this
year in 2007. It is a modern bed and breakfast with a homely touch. We ourselves
are homely friendly people and we want our guests to feel as comfortable as we
are in our own house. Therefore, our b & b has all the home comforts that we
enjoy. A warm, cosy living room with a glorious open fire greets you in the
evening. Irish weather can be very unpredictable and there is nothing as
relaxing as chilling out in a room with an open fire when the weather is cold
outside! Our dining area is spacious and furnished to a high standard with
modern furniture. All of our rooms are colour coordinated with tasteful colours.
Our beds and bedroom furniture are of the highest quality - your comfort is our
objective. Even our linen and towels are quality made - the standard of which is
rarely seen in a bed and breakfast. All of our bedrooms have en suite bathrooms
and if you need more towels or linen or pillows, just ask!! We have lovely
gardens with benches for you to relax outside with a drink with your friends and
family. We are in the countryside here, surrounded only by beautiful greenery so
you won't hear noisy traffic anywhere near us. Relax, make yourself at home!!

well respected authority, we have to be exceptional! Their very strict standards
of quality and codes of practise are fully respected by us and they often
